akward personality

I was talking on the phone the other day with someone and they brought up bad news that was really horrible and sad...I dont know why but I dont know how to handle stuff like that very well lol.

I realized half way into the conversation that I was nervously laughing. Man, I felt so bad for the person! I realized I must of been like an akward court jester when told bad news.

Also- Gary Busey!

It's almost as if Gary is hissing because of the sunlight. The last shot was just to show how Crypt Keeper -like this drawing is. Gary is wonderfully beyond what any anatomy text book can define. His facial structure is unlike any other (true for all of us, really- but more specifically true to Gary's head)

Anchorman- A Desk on which to work!

Alright, so...I woke up earlier than I wanted to today. There's a bit to this so, bear with me. I'm staying with friends in Nashville for awhile until I find a place. They were kind enough to set up a desk, Ron's antique drafting table. The light is best in the mornings in this location. I don't have my clamp lamps with me else, this wouldn't be an issue. So, I've been fighting a cold and need to rest this weekend but couldn't NOT draw when I've got good light. I've also been wanting to draw a tricky expression along with a tricky subject (blondes) are tough to capture. I'm glad that I didn't go back to bed. I feel all sorts of awful right now, but, it's worth it to ignore that.

Also, I couldn't seem to locate any dark brown colored pencils and was tempted to hit the Art Store again. They were all hiding in a pencil case, so I need to play with the toys that I have and not go crazy getting new ones.

Preview: as these are not finished just yet. I still need to find some paper that will take a great amount of pencil. Maybe I need to stick with Illustration Board? I think I need to adapt to the sketch paper and stop trying to overload it, which is what is happening. I have not yet set up the scanner which is one of the few things I took with me to nashville. I will set that up once I get finished as I'm still organizing things a bit.

It's safe to post this now as it's been a year since this was top secret work. It's FISH! swimming...you have to imagine the water. As I'm in between places and don't have all my illustration gear all sorted out, I am sorry that I haven't been able to post sketches. I will soon so I can feel a part of the blog, once again!
