Oil Sketch—In Progress
Block-in stages; charcoal sketch and over all wash to background and upper face. I'm going to leave the background unfinished and just add the beard and indicate parts of the collar and jacket.
Thank you, Paul. In the last year or so I've been finishing off my paintings but I really like the unfinished look because it's much more emotional. I think this will be my direction from now on. This process is more challenging in some ways but a lot more fun too. Now, to find the time to finish the beard!
Killer work, Joe! Can't wait to see it with the beard finished!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim.
ReplyDeleteWow, SKILLS, Joe!!! SKILLS to pay the bills! That is tremendously good work!
