Andrei Arlovski
I've been wanting to do this one for awhile but work prevented it. I didn't get a chance to really focus in on it like I wanted to but I feel, even though I"ve been drawing, that I haven't been drawing...if that makes sense.
Makes perfect sense. I get that feeling too, after a loot spell of drawing what a client wants. It's the result of drawing from you head and not your heart. It feels good to holds a pencil with passion again, no?
Great drawing, btw. Love the look on the dog's face. Sorta reminds me of my old pup.
yes! I wanted to draw much much more. I've been having to pretend that I can't draw just to fit the style that clients want. I love that dog. He sounds like he was a sweet puppy. Thanks Tim!
If I draw like I normally draw, the client wants something "Simpler" meaning, make it look like you've traced it OR make it look simpler meaning less detail or cartoony. The "Tracing" style is tough.

Still is a sweet puppy. When I said "old pup", I just meant he is 10+ years.
ReplyDeleteJody, please elaborate on "I've been having to pretend that I can't draw just to fit the style that clients want."

ReplyDeleteTim, I'm glad your puppy is still with us!!!
