I drew this today for a friend whose birthday is tomorrow. I should have drawn & mailed it a couple of days ago, I know. A wizard is never late, but her birthday card will be. (4x6" marker and pencil on chipboard.)
BTW, thank you Jody for hosting this and getting us all to draw daily like we should be doing!
Well awhile back I did a sketch where gramps was telling the kids his Tall tales...so thought I would reverse the roles on how kids like to tell their stories or how their day went. I can't believe March is already coming to an end. Yikes. Time is flying to fast.
Watched "Hugo" last night, sketchbook in my lap. So many great faces and costumes. I'm going to have to watch the film a couple more times. Spent too much time looking down, trying to capture all the characters.
Yes, I technically drew this yesterday, but I colored it in after midnight, so it counts as my March 30 sketch.
Senator Walrus daydreams of performing at SeaWorld...
Decorated another envelope to mail a contract to a client. Yes, those are custom stamps, too. I had them made for postcards back when the postage rate was 5¢ less. So, for this letter, Im overpaying 9¢, not including the surcharge of personalized postage. This contract better be worth it.
This one was just too horrible NOT to share two years in a row. If you're not about to vomit after seeing these two, you just might have a stomach of pure steel.
Long night, long Sunday. I took a break and lay down on the deck in the sun while my daughter did her drawing homework. I looked up and saw something like this face in the clouds:
My daughter was in her High School production of "The Wizard of Oz". I did the monkey in her honor.
From yesterday (March 24): I'm not sure where this came from in my head. I was playing Scrabble® with my mom and started doodling while she was working on her words.
So keeping to the theme of the baby and teddy bear from a prior sketch this past week,. Thought I would add a couple more sketches of the two. My little one has been the inspiration for these.
I drew this for my friend Ginger Cooper who was kind enough to invite me to see Hunger games with her. She paid my way so I wanted to give her a drawing. Neither one of us has read the books. I really want to but am waiting until things are more stable :) Bills first, fun WAYYYYYY later!
Was watching tv today and seen this guy with his guitar singing to kids. So good thing I had my drawing pad with me at the time so I could quickly sketch him...or at least get the idea down. I always like sketching spontaneously without worrying about what is right or wrong. I feel I have more energy or life to my sketches/drawings that way. Sometimes I nail it and sometimes I don't but that's the whole fun about drawing.
It's not quite Will Smith, but it's done in a few seconds. I'll do another one before the Willenium is out, I promise! I used to have terrifying, super-real, nightmares about robots malfunctioning and killing my family. I think Matt Groening has the same fear (as he mentions in a lot of Futurama Commentarys) that robots are a bit scary.
Been super busy today with an art job... but watched once upon a time tonight on the computer. aaah it started out slow, but that tv show is pickin' up now! anyway was testing out drawing snow white in different ways..kinda lame.. oh well!
hey drew this.. i know its not st. pattys day anymore, but i was watching star wars, and a friend of mine and i were on iscribble and we drew this up. its Darth Vader saying "Dont even think about pinching me" On st. pattys day.
Oddly enough, I grabbed a magazine at random, flipped it to the page with the Tim Robbins article on it. Went to the house where I"m housesitting and what do you know is on TV when I flip it on? Shawshank. Very apropos but I had hardly any light for this one (being lazy) so I kind of gave up on it.
Actually, my contacts have been in way too long and I was super tired which is more reason for me to have given up.
