Photo Reference

I've been sketching every day this month, and this is the drawing that I did this morning.
It's from an online resource of model photos I found.

Another Wahine Postcard

I get these little pads of watercolor paper postcards at the grocery store. The paper is horrible, and doesn't take the paint well at all. Its too porous, so washes don't work well. But they are great for sending out little sketches like this.

Moss

Jody's drawing a few months back got me interested in this show (The BBC's The IT Crowd). I watched all three seasons on Thursday & Friday. Too funny.

Edward

Sending this off in the mail to my daughter tomorrow. In keeping with the theme, the message on the back is made up of words cut from the paper and magazines.

20 years ago today...

These are some postcards I made to send my daughter at school. I sent Ringo off yesterday. The rest will get mailed one every couple of days.

Watercolor Sketch

I like playing around with watercolor early in the morning on Saturdays. Did this in my Moleskine watercolor sketchbook.

Mid-Week Catch Up

I sent a little something to my niece who has lots of red curly fluffy hair, and decided to decorate the envelope. I put it in the mail today, so you are getting to see it before she does.
I scanned it first, then photographed it after I addressed and stamped it.
I was going to use Pixar stamps, but they took up too much room.

Last Saturday

I promise this was a Saturday Sketch. I just did it last Saturday. However, I don't know if it really counts for this blog since it was a commission. I didn't just paint it on my own time. Problem?
It's for a cover for a CD of ukulele music.

Sherlock

My wife, daughter & I have been watching the BBC series "Sherlock". Big fans. The women in the family have become especially big fans of Benedict Cumberbatch. I am a hero when I draw him for them.

Real Gangsta

I recently bought the Stephen Silver's PoseBook app for the iPad. It's a great resource for models and gestures. I'm having a lot of fun with it!

March 31!!

I drew this today for a friend whose birthday is tomorrow. I should have drawn & mailed it a couple of days ago, I know. A wizard is never late, but her birthday card will be. (4x6" marker and pencil on chipboard.)

BTW, thank you Jody for hosting this and getting us all to draw daily like we should be doing!

Senator Walrus daydreams of performing at SeaWorld...
Decorated another envelope to mail a contract to a client. Yes, those are custom stamps, too. I had them made for postcards back when the postage rate was 5¢ less. So, for this letter, Im overpaying 9¢, not including the surcharge of personalized postage. This contract better be worth it.
